Searching for the Soror Mystica

Ladies only!
An exploration of the lives and alchemical practices of remarkable women, from Hypatia of Alexandria (4th C.), Anne Conway (17th C), Susanne Katharina von Klettenberg (18th C.) and Mary Anne Atwood (19th C.) to name a few of the better-known. The author (a woman, of course!) uses methods of modern feminist analysis, but is also very well aware that understanding the interconnectedness of fields such as Jewish Mysticism, Astrology, Jungian Psychology, Magic and Healing arts is essential to grasping the full range of disciplines in which these female alchemists had expertise.
The book is dedicated to the ‘many women throughout time who have sought to understand the universe’.
