Reading room services

The library houses a general reference section and modern editions of works (post-1900) and secondary sources on open shelves on the ground floor and on the first floor. The reading room is situated on the first floor. Books printed before 1900 and manuscripts will be fetched for readers wishing to consult them. Free WiFi and access to the online catalogue are available in the reading room. Photocopies of modern works can be made and scans of pre-1900 material can be ordered at the librarian’s discretion. Please note that copyright law applies to photocopying and scanning from books and journals within copyright law. Books cannot be borrowed but will be returned to the shelves after reading by the staff of the library. Publications by our publishing house In de Pelikaan can be bought in the library or ordered via our website.
